In charge of promoting the expansion of Italy’s business, culture, innovation and science abroad as Director General for Growth and Export Promotion at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Former Ambassador of Italy to the Republic of Chile. Author of the book “La Partita dell’Euro” (Ed. Bocconi, 2022), a memoir on how Italy negotiated its way into the European Monetary Union. Previously he was diplomatic advisor at Italy’s Ministry of Economic Development; Consul General of Italy in San Francisco from 2012 to 2016; head of international institutional affairs at Enel, an international power company, from 2008 to 2012. Earlier he served as the head of the desk for trade and investment promotion at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rome 2003 to September 2008. He graduated in Economics at Bocconi University, Milan, and received a Master’s degree in public policy at Princeton’s Woodrow Wilson School. His posts abroad as a diplomat specialized in economic issues included Israel, where he headed the economic department of the Italian Embassy in Tel-Aviv (1999-2002) and Germany, where he served at the financial section of the Italian Embassy in Bonn (1995-1999). “La Partita dell’Euro” tells the story of those early years of diplomatic activity.
